Camera Registration
Camera Registration Program
The Farmington Police Department’s Camera Registration Program is a voluntary partnership between the community and law enforcement. By registering your security cameras, you can help provide valuable information that supports investigations and enhances public safety across Farmington.
Community Partnership & Public Safety
Residential and Commercial Welcome:
Whether you are a homeowner or a business owner, you are encouraged to register your security cameras. Your participation helps create a safer community by assisting officers and investigators when incidents occur.
This program improves the efficiency of investigations by reducing the need for time-consuming, door-to-door canvassing. Instead, investigators can quickly identify potential video evidence locations and know who to contact if footage may be helpful.
How It Works
Registering your camera is simple and completely voluntary. By participating, you are providing:
- The location of your camera(s)
- Contact information in case investigators need to follow up
This allows investigators to:
- Quickly identify possible video sources near an incident
- Contact camera owners directly if footage may assist an investigation
- Save valuable time during active cases
Privacy & Transparency
The Farmington Police Department is committed to protecting your privacy.
- Camera registration does NOT provide live access to your cameras
- The department cannot view or monitor your system remotely
- You will only be contacted if your footage may be relevant to an investigation
This program is strictly designed to support investigations while respecting the rights and privacy of our community members.
